OU Joins 63rd Meeting of the Evangelical Theological Society

November 19, 2011

Olivet University made its presence known this past week through its participation in the 63rd annual meeting of the Evangelical Theological Society.

In addition to having several faculty and staff attending the event, Olivet also had a booth set up in the Exhibit Hall to introduce the school.

“It was great attending the ETS meeting. And with ETS being held this year in San Francisco – that made it even better.  We were able to make quite a number of good connections and share about latest news regarding OU,” remarked Kenneth Chan, Program Director for the Olivet College of Journalism.

“The sessions were also quite remarkable – in breadth and in depth.”

Present at the ETS meeting were schools including Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, Wheaton College, and Dallas Theological Seminary, among others.  Publishers such as B&H Publishing, IVP Academic, and Baker Academic were also present.

Founded in 1949, the Evangelical Theological Society (ETS) is a group of scholars, teachers, pastors, students, and others dedicated to the oral exchange and written expression of theological thought and research. The ETS is devoted to the inerrancy and inspiration of the Scriptures and the gospel of Jesus Christ.

The ETS holds national as well as regional meetings across the United States.

The theme for the annual meeting this year was "No Other Name."  The meeting was held Nov. 16-18, 2011 at the San Francisco Marriott Marquis – just two blocks from Olivet University’s San Francisco campus.
