Dmin Candidates' Projects Carry International Scope

March 17, 2014

This month will mark an important milestone for Olivet University's Zinzendorf School of Doctoral Studies D. Min Candidates, whom are nearing the completion of their final papers for next month's oral defense.

Many of the candidates' final papers are expected to make contribution to their ministries and pastoral fields.

Dmin students, Jihye Kim and Namhee Yoon, have focused their projects on creating a bible study guides based on Galatians and Romans.  Both guides are aimed to assist church attendants in understanding the basic doctrines of Christianity.  While serving at their churches, the two candidates infused their experience and interactions with churchgoers into crafting the guidebooks.  The results would hopefully offer thorough bible studies with new approaches in storytelling.

Dmin student Zach Im focused his paper topic on intercessory prayer where he developed training programs for his prayer ministry. Through lectures and arrangement of prayer sessions, he looks to encourage and promote spiritual development beyond church and into the homes and workplace.

Other projects carry international scope as students look to tackle issues present in their home countries.  One student looks into pasturing India by bringing attention to Biblio-practical approaches in urban evangelism toward India’s cosmopolitan areas.  Another Dmin candidate's project involves enhancing Japanese missions through observing issues of guilt and resolving those anxieties by learning the works of Jesus Christ.

By April, Olivet University Dmin candidates will be scheduled for oral defense to the doctoral committee in hope of making a contribution to the practical fields in Christian ministries.
