OSLE Adds Introduction to TESOL Methodology Course

November 01, 2015

Olivet School of Language Education has opened a new elective course, Introduction to TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) Methodology, to graduate students.

The course is being offered to MATI (Master of Arts in Translation & Interpretation) students in San Francisco who want to learn about the “what” and “how” of language teaching.

During the course, students will also learn about the history of methodology in language teaching, various techniques for how to teach general English for international students, and also how to approach the teaching of individual skills such as listening, speaking, reading and writing.

Dr. Ruth Larimer and Michael Smith are co-teaching the class this quarter.

“I really enjoy this class. Their teaching has shown me a new perspective on language education. I can’t wait for the next class,” said a MATI student.
