On April 23, Judge James C. Chalfant of the Los Angeles County Superior Court ordered that the matter involving Olivet University and the California Bureau for Private Postsecondary Education (BPPE) be remanded back to the bureau. The BPPE previously ruled in December 2024 to revoke the license of the University. Since then, Olivet has operated under the religious exempt status in California. Counsel for Olivet will prepare the judgment and writ.
Founded more than 20 years ago, Olivet University is a Christian institution with multiple campuses across the United States. It has been accredited by the Association for Biblical Higher Education (ABHE) since 2009.
