Doctoral Colloquium Successfully Concluded

The 2013 Doctoral Colloquium successfully concluded with a word of gratitude from Zinzendorf School of Doctoral Studies Co-President, Dr. William Wagner to the students on Sept 17th evening.

"Now, we like to officially close the doctoral colloquium by praising God. Thank you for joining the colloquium. We have seen your academic passions and efforts on your papers. Your presentation has been far beyond our expectations. At the next time, I wish to meet you in the oral defense and some of you will get a doctoral degree in the next year," commented Dr. Wagner.

The program brought together a diverse group of students traveling from countries such as India, Europe, Africa, South Korea and Hong Kong as well as many cities across the U.S.

In the dissertation presentations, students brought up various issues in the mission fields across different disciplines.  Doctoral students presented their projects that offer contributions toward solutions or benefit to various ministry works.

"I am a lay person in my church .That means I am neither a pastor nor a leader in the church. But as a working person and in another word, as a designer, I want to do a project that will help lay people to deliver Gospel in the era of 'Smart Media'. In this era emphasizing interaction between individuals, not only pastor or clergy man but each layman’s role become important in delivering gospel," Ms. Yoo, One of doctoral candidates  shared her topic in her presentation.

After the students' presentations, selected doctoral faculty gave lectures on specialized topics in their field of study.  Dr. Donald Tinder, Dr. Chansamone Saiyasak, Dr. Bertil Ekstrom, Dr. Cleon Rogers, Dr. Mark Wagner, and Dr. Weanzane Nupanga were among the professors who offered their lectures. Dr.Creighton Marlowe instructed about turabian style and various methodology of research.
