Music & Worship Seminar Emphasizes Devotionals

In a special Music & Worship seminar in San Francisco, the Dean of Olivet University’s Jubilee College of Music, Dr. Merril Smoak, encouraged students to hold a devotional time before rehearsals.

Dr. Smoak emphasized last week the importance of raising the spiritual level of band members and offered examples on how to do devotionals and lead the worship group.

Miriam Zhu, a graduate student at Jubilee College of Music, commented, “I always think of doing devotional with our church worship band members but haven't done it yet. Today's lesson encouraged me once again and the material Dr. Smoak gave was actually really good to apply to my worship ministry.”
