Olivet School of Art and Design recently appointed a new director who is an award-winning artist.
Zimou Tan, who taught at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco for 13 years, said he is looking forward to serving at Olivet University.
“It is my honor to serve OSAD and my pleasure to be a servant for the Kingdom of God,” Tan commented.
His vision for OSAD includes expanding the curriculum and inspiring more creativity among students.
Art, he said, is a reflection of life. It serves to express, record and celebrate all stages of life and communicates a person’s emotions, said Tan, who specializes in portraiture.
OSAD focuses on visual communication and helping students apply Gospel values to their works.
